Well, that was way too fast!  I'm finished with the slippers.
They look good, and were so easy to make.
She likes blues and greens and I just happened to have those colours in my stash.
The pattern can be found here Granny Slippers
Now I just need to mail them to her in time for her birthday.
Now on to the next project, which is ... I don't know yet.  I have to look at my yarn and see what it wants to become.  Maybe look at some patterns and see what inspires me.

I finished the poncho, turns out I didn't have as much left to do as I thought I did.
It turned out pretty nice, if I do say so my self.
I didn't follow the pattern exactly because I used one colour instead of three, and I didn't double the yarn.  I also added extra rows to the pattern to make it longer and left off the fringe (otherwise my cat would attack me every time I wore it).  I still need to block it because the bottom rolls up, other than that it is finished and ready to be worn.
3 Colour Poncho
I'm now on to a pair of slippers for my sister, her birthday is coming up soon and I thought that they'd make a nice gift for her.

The end of March

So March snuck by me like a mouse.
I finished a lot of projects (for swaps) that I had on my plate.

I made several scrunchies (or hair ties as I prefer to call them).  I also made more headbands, some granny squares, fridgies (magnets) and an ear warmer.  I swapped these with freinds for what they have made.  It's fun, and best of all it keeps me out of trouble and off the streets! ;-)

Here is the ear warmer I made; you can find the pattern here Granny Stripe Headband/Earwarmer and the flower is from this pattern Cozy Flowered Headband

These are the hair ties I made
 # 1: Picot Scrunchie
# 2: Party Hair Scrunchie
# 3 Baby Pompadour Scrunchie

How about these fridgies?  Aren't they cute!
Cream Filled Cookie Fridgie
Crochet Flower Fridgies
Easter Egg Fridgie
and my favorite so far Bathing Suit Fridgies
Lastly, during the month of March came my granny squares - got to love those squares!
Cornered Hearts Square
Fisherman's Ring Square
Butterfly Garden Square
Basic Granny Square
6 inch:
12 inch
There you have it; all my work for the month.
Now I'll get back to the poncho I keep putting off, I'm just not that inspired by it any more, but keep hoping that it'll grow on me, again, as I go along.  You ever have one of those projects that you start and then realize that you just don't like it as much as you thought you did?
I need more projects to work on.  I chose not to do any swaps this month, just hope I don't get too bored!

Preserve Funding for the NIH: Thank You, Tell-a-Friend - National Stroke Association

You know, if the members of Congress had jobs in the private sector, they would have been fired by now for not doing their job!  They are acting like a bunch of babies "gimme, gimme, gimme" "mine, mine, mine" "I want that"..., they're doing all the "taking" without any of the "giving".  Lets tell them to get off their butts and pass a budget so that we don't lose the things we need, the things we are all so used to having.  If a budget isn't passed it will shutdown our government, including research facilities.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) would shutdown.  They conduct critical research on stroke diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.  Stroke is a top leading cause of death, more than 140,000 people die from a Stroke in the US alone, it is the leading cause of long-term disability, and about 795,000 people have a Stroke each year (some of this information found on http://www.strokecenter.org/patients/about-stroke/stroke-statistics/).  We need to continue funding research on Stroke.
My life has forever been changed because of Stroke, my hubby had a stroke and we live each day with its devastating results; he has right side paralysis and a severe speech impairment.  This will be a life-long journey and without continued research there is little hope of him getting the help he needs and getting a little better.  Please help me reach our Congressmen and women and tell them to get off their butts, do their job and pass a budget.
Remember to act FAST (Face Drooping, Arm Weakness, Speech Difficulty, Time to call 911) if you think you or someone you know is having a Stroke!

Headband 2

I had such fun making the first headband, I decided to make another. This time I used a regular crochet pattern. I like the way it turned out, hope you do too. The pattern can be found here ribbed headband
This headband is very quick and easy to make. I am going to make several to give away!  I do have a couple more swaps for hair accessories.  I should make some for myself, I rarely keep anything I make!
Have a fabulous day and keep on hooking!

Headband 1

I have this swap that I am working on, it is for a headband.  I've never made one before and thought that it would be fun.  I found this pattern that I really like, and guess what, I had to learn a new technique to make it!  I had to learn how to do the hairpin lace crochet.  This is the headband I am working on.  Hairpin lace headband

I went to YouTube to find a video on how to do this technique.  I found several, but the one that was the easiest to understand and follow was this one.
hairpin lace tutorial
She does a wonderful job explaining the process used.  I will post pictures of my project soon.  Have a fabulous day and keep on hooking!

I took pictures of the headband with my phone and my phone ate them!  Now I have to dig out the camera, find batteries and take another picture of it.  Have a fabulous day and keep on hooking!

Finally, I got the pictures.  New technology!
